Effective Counselling Services
We have all experienced difficult events in varying degrees. At times we may be able to recover from these events, other times they can build up and impact us in ways we aren't even aware of. I offer various methods of counselling according to your needs and preferences. Multiple methods can be used throughout the therapeutic process. Therapeutic methods include EMDR & Flash Technique, Expressive Arts Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I work with adults only in my private practice.
EMDR & Flash Technique
Treats Traumatic Memories, Anxiety, Phobias, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
EMDR and the Flash technique are methods of resolving difficult or traumatic memories without talking about or recalling the event in detail. This process reduces the distress of the fear, phobia, difficult memory, or fear related to OCD quickly. Depending on the complexity of the memory of fear, it may be able to be processed even within one session.

Expressive Arts Therapy
Therapy using the Arts
Expressive Arts Therapy uses all the art forms including visual art, movement, music, theatre and writing. It is a gentle approach where internal resources are highlighted. It is a way to express, contain and problem solve difficult events or emotions.
No art experience necessary.

CBT is commonly used to treat anxiety and OCD that is getting in the way of living life to the fullest. This method involves mindfulness, identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts as well as gradually facing fears, which ultimately reduces anxiety.

Treats Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) or difficulties regulating emotions
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy involves mindfulness, identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts, safe emotional expression and emotional regulation, distress tolerance, as well as interpersonal effectiveness.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
Treats Depression
Interpersonal Psychotherapy brings awareness to the relationships in your life and how they are impacting your mood. It is used to learn and practice assertive communication.
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
Reduces Relationship Conflict
Emotion Focused Therapy enhances communication and connection between loved ones. This method focuses on empathy and validation in order to enhance understanding and de-escalate conflict.
